Colon Schools FFI scheduled for this afternoon at 4:30 has been canceled due to forecasted weather. A reschedule date is pending.
Reminder: due to mid-winter break Colon students do not have school this Friday, February 11th, and Monday, February 14th.
Tonight's Scholar-Athlete and Elementary Honor Roll celebrations, at the home basketball games, will take place as planned. Arrival times for honorees are as follows; 6:15 elementary students, 6:30 middle school students, and 7:00 high school students. Honors will be awarded at the following times; elementary students at half-time of the girls' varsity game, middle school students between the two games, and high school students at half-time of the boys' varsity game.

Colon Schools will be closed Wednesday and Thursday, February 2nd and 3rd. Staff members are not to report to work. As well, all athletic and extracurricular events and practices are canceled for Wednesday and Thursday, February 2nd and 3rd. Due to the intensity of this storm, emergency operation and response officers of the county are asking all individuals to stay off the roads until Thursday, February 3rd after 10:00 am.
Because Colon Schools has not used any further allowable forgiveness days due to weather or health, mid-winter break will be placed back in the calendar. Therefore, students WILL NOT have school on Friday, February 11th, and Monday, February 14th.
Colon elementary and secondary schools will return to school for face-to-face learning on Monday, January 24, 2022.
Both buildings will also begin NWEA testing on Monday. All students need to bring their Chromebook or iPad and headphones back to school on Monday for testing.

During this week of virtual learning, athletics will continue if the team's coach and players are healthy and able. It is strongly suggested that if you plan to attend an athletic event you wear a mask. If you are experiencing any symptoms of any type of illness, please do not attend. Thank you.

Colon Junior and Senior High School are going to be virtual for the remainder of this week due to the high numbers of illnesses, both COVID and non-COVID, reported today. All classes will be taught through Zoom and utilizing Google Classroom for the remainder of this week.

Good afternoon. Due to an outbreak of COVID-19, COVID symptoms, and fevers at Colon Elementary School, Colon Elementary will be providing virtual instruction this coming week, January 17-21, 2022, instead of in-person learning. Again, Colon Elementary School will move to virtual instruction this week. Colon Junior and Senior High School will carry on with in-person learning as normal.
Elementary teachers will be in communication with parents and guardians regarding virtual learning times and devices and materials that may need to be picked up at CES. Parents may pick up materials between noon and 5:00 pm tomorrow. If this timeframe does not work for you please contact the elementary office tomorrow to make other arrangements.

The JV Boys Basketball game @ Climax tonight (Jan. 6th) is canceled. The game is rescheduled for tomorrow (Jan. 7th) at 4:30 and will be played in Colon.

It is with great appreciation that Colon Schools thanks Mrs. Wolford for her years of service to the district as the elementary principal. Mrs. Wolford has accepted another position in education and we wish her well. As we return from break, Mrs. Brockway will support the elementary school until a new principal can be hired. Please be reminded that tomorrow and Friday are half days of school for all Colon Students in order to accommodate secondary exams and the end of the marking period. All students will then be on break from school following the half-day this Friday with a return date of January 3, 2022.
