Please be reminded that tomorrow and Friday are half days of school for all Colon Students in order to accommodate secondary exams and the end of the marking period. All students will then be on break from school following the half-day this Friday with a return date of January 3, 2022.

Tonight's 7th and 8th grade boys basketball games, scheduled in Hillsdale, are cancelled.

Just a reminder that next week Thursday (12/16) and Friday (12/17) are early release days for all students to accommodate secondary exams as we end the first semester. We wish you a very peaceful weekend.

All students and staff are safe at Colon Community Schools. The State Police, St Joseph County Sheriff's department, and the Colon Police completed the investigation within the district following a social media threat. We are greatly appreciative to our parents and community for remaining calm and supportive throughout this situation.

A huge THANK YOU to RE/MAX Elite Group for donating hats and gloves for each student at Colon Elementary School. Pictured L to R Randy Sharp, Laura Alva, Dianne Wolford, Kathy Earl, and Nic Sharp.

L to R Kynsley Wood, Khloe Minor, Maeve Reilley, Dru Stiles, Harbour Smith, Ava Miller, Breea Alldredge, Harper Davis and Collin Lafontaine. Great work everyone!

School districts in Michigan are given 6 days each year from the State which are allowed to be canceled due to unforeseen circumstances. Using more than 6 days of forgiven time causes a district to make up the days and hours canceled beyond the 6. Colon Schools has used 3 of these 6 days for the 2021-2022 school year. Therefore, the district is canceling the mid-winter break scheduled in February. Friday, February 11th, and Monday, February 14th will be full days of school. Reminders will be sent in the New Year.

Returning to in person learning.
We hope you have had a great Thanksgiving weekend. We look forward to seeing all students in person tomorrow, Monday, November 29th.
